We should practice being sustainable in spirit as well as in definition.
So by these definitions, we can infer that being sustainable is no luxury when opposed to its alternative. Not focusing on sustainability as a culture really is incapable of being right, more than can be endured, and unable to justify. We are not just being ignorant when not behaving in ways that are sustainable, but more hazardously we are being complicit in decreasing our net well-being in every aspect of our world. We are being irresponsible by not holding ourselves accountable first, and then holding each other to the same level of accountability as we hold ourselves.
To be sustainable is to proceed proactively in ways that anticipate and mitigate the opposing forces we will always face from the universe naturally when trying to survive as a species.
