You Have Arrived

What's up?

You have arrived at the first Green Miyagi Blog post..  that's what's up! Green Miyagi is the DBA of (me) Corey Lee Sargent. This post is to tell the creation story and purpose of Green Miyagi Waterless | Dallas Eco Auto DetailingSustainable Social Responsibility Business, and our North Texas Water Conservation Mission.

Creation Story

"Every moment of your life is infinitely creative and the universe is endlessly bountiful. Just put forth a clear enough request, and everything your heart desires must come to you."
-Mahatma Gandhi

I conceptualized Green Miyagi as a graduate studying Interdisciplinary Studies in Advanced Analytics at the University of North Texas in 2017. After graduating as the 2010 Honor’s Day Outstanding Undergraduate in Applied Behavior Analysis Award recipient I went into a corporate career in the financial sector. This led to the culmination of leading a project that required the redevelopment, redesign, and implementation of the organizational processes and training program for one of the top 3, and my personal favorite, automobile brands. You might have heard of Toyota. It was complete accountability for ensuring an entire business line was to pivot from failing to flying. At the end of the day, it meant nothing but the confirmation of my ability to succeed at that which I aim to achieve. Oh, also there were millions of dollars in profit for the corporatocracy.

Ultimately it was empty...

In the grad program at UNT, I studied a variety of subjects including Government & Public Administration, ManagementMarketing, and Environmental Philosophy.

No one seemed to really have the solutions to the meta-systematic problems we face environmentally, socially, and culturally.

After decade-long apologetic rhetoric to my daughter for the conditions of the world, humans had created for her Generation Z to grow into adulthood among It was enough. I made the decision that higher education could only be achieved by now searching for the solution (no way is the way of course) within myself. Something other must be of better service to her and I.

How to fill it back up...

My love for the environment began as a child fantasizing about becoming a Herpetologist. That love led to my realizing that we can’t save the Green Tree Frogs unless we better control human behavior which ultimately led to a Psychology and subsequent Applied Behavior Analysis degree.

When I finally arrived at an overstanding that our cultural institutions and human-designed systems had become the driving force affecting the downward spiral humanity is creating for our planet and ourselves I had to begin acting out ways in which these things could be solved. I decided that since I was always placed in charge to some degree, and rose near or to the top of any organization I had been involved in since elementary, that I needed to be in charge of how I spend my days. I ‘ought’ to be spending my time in the very best manner I could conceive. I also knew there had to be a paradigm shift in the relationship between the public and private sectors as it relates to the well-being and resource equity of society. Lastly, I felt with conviction that human endeavors of any nature including business could and should be conducted in a ‘do no harm’ fashion at the least, and at best provide as much of an impact socially and/or environmentally as can be conceived and within the realm of believable possibility.

Is there even enough left to refill...

So I had already been delving into the ‘big’ problems my daughter may grow up and encounter and learned that North Texas in particular is facing one of the most challenging water situations projected in the country. Simply put, North Texas is projected to see its population growth by 2070 result in double what it is today. In this same time span, North Texas projected water supply decreases by 11%. I'm no mathematician, but in these two pieces of data alone I can see a critical obstacle that Generation Z North Texans will have to overcome, and aside from the air we breathe there is nothing more critical to life and livelihood than water.

Nothing. Nada. None.

Or does our cup runneth over with abundance...

Based on the reasons listed that had now become my underlying convictions and foundations of my belief system the universe seemed to have come undone. A better way of stating what I perceived is that the universe unfolded until this vision ‘Green Miyagi’ was all I could see and that it unfolded specifically for me to see, believe, and be. Sustainable Social Responsibility Business with a North Texas Water Conservation Mission in the form of Green Miyagi Waterless | Dallas Eco Auto Detailing with a business model of promoting and practicing environmental and social sustainability is what I would be, or come to be, errr… become!

I AM, and Then I'm Not

The very same week life arrived to brutally sweep my daughter, me, all I ever knew, believed in and loved into a tragic abyss that I never could have conceived. A true hell that engulfed the entire universe as we knew it to be. All I will say is that’s a different story for a different platform, time, and space. Almost 4 years later, however, Green Miyagi is having Rebirth in Dallas, Texas, fully blessed, and with saving grace.

Thank you for being with us at this moment where from within the darkness a Green Miyagi light shines increasingly brighter as we grow through spacetime.

A purpose divine.

So Much Love,
